After a win at home against the Dallas Wings this past Thursday, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is now the only rookie in WNBA history to record seven consecutive double-doubles.

Previously, the record of six consecutive double-doubles was held by both Cindy Brown (1998) and Tina Charles (2010). Charles holds a record for having 22 double-doubles her rookie season but, with eight total double-doubles and 26 games left, Reese can still reach or surpass this record.

Angel Reese over her last 7 games:

16 PTS – 18 REB – 3 AST

11 PTS – 13 REB – 5 AST

10 PTS – 14 REB – 2 AST

20 PTS – 10 REB – 2 STL

13 PTS – 13 REB – 5 STL

16 PTS – 11 REB – 5 STL

13 PTS – 10 REB – 1 AST

Reese is currently averaging 12.4 PPG and 10.8 RPG and is the first, and only, rookie from this year’s draft class to average a double-double per game. The only other WNBA players this season with double-double averages are A’ja Wilson (27.8 PPG/11.6 RPG), Dearica Hamby (17.8 PPG/10.5 RPG), and Napheesa Collier (20.9 PPG/10.4 RPG).

With her 10.8 RPG season average, Reese ranks second overall behind A’ja Wilson. Her WNBA career-high, and season-high, for rebounds in a single game is 18 (vs. Dallas on June 20), while her NCAA record comes from her first year at LSU and sits at 28 (vs.Texas A&M on Jan. 5, 2023). At 151 total rebounds, Reese is 247 rebounds away from being the All-Time Rookie Leading Rebounder, a record currently held by Tina Charles (398).

The Sky will face off against the Indiana Fever for the third time this season, Sunday at 4 PM on ESPN. Through their previous two matchups, Reese averaged 9.5 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 assists. She secured her sixth double-double in a row, and seventh overall for the season, during their second regular season game at Indiana. Today’s game will be in Chicago as the Sky look to win their second home game in a row.
